Hello and welcome to Food Blog Photos. I'm Mary O'Brien, a food blogger, recipe creator, and food photographer. I am a retired registered nurse and blogger since 2008, first in the hobby farm niche, and now in the food blog niche for well over a decade. You can only chase six-and-a-half-foot tall emus at 40 miles an hour for so long.

I became interested in improving the quality of my food blog photos when my husband said he liked my new meatloaf picture. Unfortunately, it was not meatloaf. It was a fruitcake. That lit a fire under me, and I bought new gear, practiced, and took every course I could find on food photography. I enrolled in the Pretty Focused Food Photography Course in May of 2024 and I am now a Pretty Focused certified food photographer.

We love food and taking pictures of food around my home. When I am not blogging, I am creating new recipes, testing them, shooting the photos and offering them to my fellow bloggers via Facebook, the Pretty Focused Buyer's Club, and my online store, Food Blog Photos.
